Intro to Ecuador Blog Post

Hello folks! I’m back in the saddle & setting sail for South America—specifically, Ecuador. My friend & coworker Andrea is coming along for the ride. We’re spending a week in the mainland, cramming in as much adventure activities as possible, and then setting sail for the Galapagos Islands, where we will hang with giant tortoises, sea lions, and blue-footed boobies.

We decided to see the country via tours, for several reasons. Firstly, it’s easier. Secondly, we don’t have a ton of time, and we wanted to maximize our time here to do and see as much as possible—if we tried to plan all this ourselves, we would inevitably end up wasting a lot of time while down here following up on various details & stressing over mistakes we didn’t know ahead of time. Lastly, I’ve never done this kind of travel before, so I’m interested to see how it compares to sourcing these activities, accommodation & transport yourself.

So stay tuned as I blog our daily adventures, trials & tribulations during my first time in South America! - BPK
